This 1934 A $20 Note was issued due to the attack of Pearl Harbor at 6 a.m. on December 7, 1941, the Japanese sent over 200 planes toward Pearl Harbor and left a wake of destruction on the Hawaii Islands, Following the attack, the U.S. released a special series of paper money for exclusive use in the Pacific. With a brown seal and HAWAII overprinted on the face and back, the notes could be declared worthless if they fell into enemy hands.
